A Little Bit About Me...

I wanted to share a little bit about me!
I love what I love and am passionate about a lot of things!
There are so many things in this life I want to accomplish;
So many that I have to prioritize all of my ideas.

I am the 1st born of three girls. Grew up in So. Cal and then moved to Chicago, Ohio and back to So. Cal. Ohio is what I call home as I met the most genuine people and 3 of my best friends.

Had the best childhood a girl could ask for. My parents raised us girls to appreciate everything we have, work hard, don't take life for granted, use your creativity, and you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Those values are forever engrained in me, so watch out world! I don't take no for an answer.

I love to dance, love to jewel things, love to decorate, love to design and host parties, love babies and all of the 'stuff' that comes with a baby, I love guns, I love motorcycles, I love cars, I love my job, I love music, I love to shop and style outfits, I love my friends and family, I love my husband and my dog and I love the Lord.

Life can be taken from you tomorrow, so why live today in misery? Life is too short to be unhappy and no matter how bad you think your day is, there is someone going through something a lot worse. A positive outlook = positive effects on life.
Effort = Results...the motto my dad instilled in me at a young age.

Since I was born, my dad has been involved in some type of motor sport. At the age of 2 I was riding on the front of my mom's quad in the desert pushing the throttle with my little thumb. I wore cowboy boots, a race suit and loved dirt and bugs! Tom-boy would be the word! My first motorcycle was a Power Wheels quad. The smell of exhaust from a motorcycle is the best!

When I was 15 I met my husband. We met on a blind date at (of all places) the dirt bike track. Couldn't have been more perfect for a girl like me! Paul and I didn't know then that we would be married someday, but we knew one thing for sure; we both loved dirt bikes! The rest was history. I didn't miss any of his races or practices.
8.5 years later on 5/30/2010 we became Husband and Wife. Now I am an Army Wife! My hubby joined the Army as an Infantryman and I couldn't be more proud!

I started to work when I was 15.5 at a used baby store. I loved my job and was so proud that I was working. I love to work and have been blessed with some of the most amazing jobs for a girl as young as me!
At 17 my dad met a kid named Chris Ackerman. He was the office manager for a small, up and coming company called Metal Mulisha. Chris asked if we could do a booth at an event to sell their clothes. So we created a display and organized the inventory and sold out of almost everything. Sadly, not long after Chris was in a horrible motorcycle accident and is now a Quadriplegic. He asked a friend of his to come and run the office, but they needed help. So he gave them my name. My mom went in for the interview first! They wanted to make sure my parents were ok with me working in an office with a bunch of dirt bike guys! I was then interviewed and hired as the receptionist and internet order processor. I was in heaven. This was my dream job. I already loved the Metal Mulisha and then I was working for them...are you kidding me??!! We helped grow the company and I eventually moved into the accounting aspect and invoicing and then sales, and girls branding. I attended Action Sports Retail shows and helped design the booth. The best years of my life!
After Metal Mulisha I worked for short time at a KTM motorcycle dealership in town.
(First Metal Mulisha booth at an event, 2002!)
Then I got the opportunity to help a friend of the family open their Vespa dealership in Oceanside, CA. He needed help with the boutique and getting it set up. Eventually I began selling bikes and this lead to me taking the reigns and becoming the General Manager/Partner of the dealership. We then purchased Vespa of San Diego and then Vespa of Newport Beach. We were the #1 Vespa Dealership in the United States and at one point we were selling 120 Vespa's a month. We loaned Vespa's for fashion photo shoots, for a Jonas Brothers photo shoot, hotels wanted them for displays, we were everywhere! I was featured in Motorcycle Industry Magazine as the focus dealer for that month.
We had amazing customers and an amazing facility.

I got a phone call from my previous boss at Metal Mulisha recruiting me to go work for her at her new job. She was now working for a Lloyd's of London insurance carrier. She needed an accounting administrator. She is the one who has taught me all I know in accounting and really the business world in general. How could I pass this opportunity up to grow my knowledge in accounting? At this time I was a full time student at the University of Phoenix studying accounting. The dealership was in good standing, I had trained someone under me to handle things; I couldn't pass this up.

I am currently the Financial Controller for an insurance carrier and I love my job more and more every day.
I am a graduate of University of Phoenix with my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.

So where do cars come in to play? Since I can remember my parents have always had a new car and I always had an opinion about the car they were purchasing. I love classic cars, but new cars get me excited! Have always been the girl that knows the new models coming out, can tell what car is behind me just by looking at the head lights, and having to name EVERY car that drives by in my head! If possible I would drive a different car every day! So what's my favorite car you may ask? And my answer is...I can't decide! Why would I ever want to pick just 1 car that had to be my favorite? Too hard for a car lover!

My dream garage at the moment:
Ford F150 - I LOVE Ford trucks and everyone needs a truck in their garage.
1956 Bel Air - I've always wanted to drive this with a scarf around my head, cat-eye sunglasses, red lips, while listening to Etta James.
Range Rover Evoque - Because it's hands down the best looking SUV right now.
Porsche Cayman - Love the sexy lines of the rear-end! Great date night car.
Porsche Cayenne - The sexiest mom-mobile ever made!
Porsche Panamera - For when the family is feeling suave and sassy.
Honda CR-V - It's what I drive now, can't hurt her feelings.
SmartCar - I mean, why not? I would have 2-4 of them and install bumper all around them and play bumper cars around town with friends! Sounds fun, right?

Cheers and blessings for your day,

Danielle
